In this project GOFBCI has used, and will continue to refine the use of GIS technology to plan for future
program sites. The project utilized local institutional data to determine locations for new Ohio Benefit Bank
sites are unconstrained by resources. Ohio Benefit Bank (OBB) is a web-based computer program to connect
and moderate-income Ohioans with access to work supports such as tax credits and public benefits. The GIS
maps created using ArcGIS software help in the planning process and provide information to prospective Ohio
Benefit Bank sites alerting them to the needs in their area. Building buffers around existing sites, the project take a holistic approach to data analysis for determining sets of criterion for site location. A gap analysis provides objective information about which areas are most in need of a particular program. |
