	FEMA’s map modernization (MapMOD) program generates a significant amount of high-quality spatial data on a county-wide basis. When utilized in a GIS local government agencies can see benefits in planning, public safety coordination and potentially, the reduction of flood insurance costs. As a primary producer of Digital Flood Insurance Rate Maps in Ohio Stantec Consulting Services Inc. has extensive knowledge of the GIS based tools involved in producing a County-wide Flood Insurance Rate Map. This presentation will showcase these tools and discuss the broader significance of Floodplain Mapping in Ohio.
